Squatting with a belt?

Do you guys use a belt when you squat? It's probably better not to use one, but I think my abs are so weak that they are holding back an effective leg workout. I think I might use a belt, and then just hit abs really hard at the end of the day.

I dont use one but I also dont lift very much. I concentrate more on reps.

*Squats are by far the best exercise in gym!

I use one but only on max lifts. If you do use one, only use during the set(s)and then take the belt off. Your blood pressure raises with the compression in the stomach area.

Dont look like one of the noobs that walk around with one during a whole workout.

I routinely squat without a belt, I don't believe it's necessary unless youre squatting for Powerlifting meets and personal bests.

Yeah, Ironman, know what you're saying about some who wear it all through their workouts. Ive read somewhere that it negatively affects something, can't remember what it was though. But belts definitely should only be used when necessary, not to be worn the whole workout.
